…for His goodness. Paul told the Colossian church “and be ye thankful.” (Col 3:15) We all have so much to thank Him for. Even if we should be in the middle of a difficult circumstance, we can still be thankful in spite of everything. He has saved us and delivered us from all sin and bondage, he set us on the rock, gave us His Word to live by, gives us food on the table, clothing to wear, and houses to live in. Let us be content with what we have and focus on those things he has done for us. At the same time we look expectantly ahead, because we know that even greater things are in store for those who trust in Him.
The April Trip
Vidar had a good time in Kenya in April, ministering together with his father, Thor Ligard. We also got to minister to a group of pastors we had not met before during a pastors conference. They received the message of reconciliation with joy, and invited us to bring the school to their area.
We have created a 4 minute video clip for you, where you can see what the ministry in Kenya is like. You can click here to see it. Windows Media Player 9 or above is required.
Earlier this month, the whole family visited Steve and Brenda Wildman in Austria. Steve has just taken a position in the church as assistant pastor and is also an instructor in the school. Vidar had an opportunity to minister in the Sunday night service, to an open and receptive congregation.
Vidar is headed to Kenya this Thursday together with Riaan Nel. Please pray for strength for them, that they will proclaim the Word of God boldly and open their mouths speaking the things God would have them speak.
We now have 4 graduations in sight, bringing the 4 current school locations to a close. As we open the school in new towns, we are looking at ways to increase publicity about the school. People hunger in Kenya to go to Bible school, and we have often met people who wish they knew about the school earlier. Since we are targeting the countryside where traditional mass advertising methods will not reach the people, we have to be a bit creative in getting the word out to people. Pray for us for wisdom, that we will know what locations to put the school in, how we should publicize it, and how to properly handle the logistics of a larger school. Right now, we are averaging 30 students in each location, but we believe that number should be 100.
