Dear Friends and Partners,
“Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mark 16:16-18)
6 Week Summer Trip
It is now time for another “going” A week from now, the whole family will board a plane and head for Africa again. It will be Hannah’s first trip there, and although Lisa has been there before, she does not remember it. So, for the girls, this will be a new experience. Also, another family will accompany us for the first two weeks of our 6-week trip. We are very excited to have our good friends, Rick and Tracey Martin and their 5-year old son, Kaleb, with us on this trip.
School and Evening Meetings
During our 6 weeks in Kenya, we will be ministering three different places: Kitui, Kanamai (Mombasa), and Malindi. We land in Nairobi Friday May 29th, and will spend a couple of days in Nairobi to readjust and relax from our trip before heading to Kitui. Kitui is located about 2 hours drive from Nairobi and is the head center of the Kamba tribe. It is a place dominated by strong traditions, including witchcraft. During our week there, we will teach our school in the morning and have evening services at night. We have never had evening services in conjunction with our school before, but we expect to see the power of God move in Kitui in a way the Kamba people have never seen before. We expect signs, wonders, and miracles to happen as promised us in Mark 16. If you want to join us in prayer for this trip, please pray for boldness and utterance to be given us according to Acts 4:29-30
And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness, while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”
A New School Module
After Kitui, we will head to Kanamai/Mombasa for 4 weeks. In Kanamai, we will add another module to our school. We call it Module E and it is for graduates who want to get some additional training. We’ve invited graduates from all over Kenya to come for this special Module. As lodging is very expensive for most of our students, and the main reason we take the school to the people instead of having the school in only one location, we have been able to borrow an elementary school where the students can sleep for free. There are no mattresses there, however, so we are planning to purchase mattresses for the students to sleep on. Each mattress costs $25. If you would like to buy a mattress for a student, you can donate here.
The building we are planning in Kanamai will also be future classrooms for Module E, as well as lodging for the students and an apartment for overseas teachers. Right now, we are submitting building plans to the city council.
We thank all of you for your supportive prayers and donations. You are making a difference in lives of people who will change their nation for Christ!
